Who we are

973 Watch Co, an independent business based in Bristol, UK, is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us about your data using our contact form.

What we collect

When you ask us for an offer, we collect your name, email address and any optional details you give us (phone number, rough location, price you're hoping for, how you heard about us), together with details and photos of your watch.

When you enquire about or reserve a watch, or send us a message, we collect your name, email address, any phone number you give us and your message.

When you join our mailing list, we collect your email address and, if you give it, your first name. We use these only to send our monthly TAG Heuer 2000 update.

When you buy from us, we collect the details needed to complete the sale and deliver your watch, such as your delivery address and payment confirmation.

When you visit the website, our hosting provider records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to keep the site running securely.

How we use it and our lawful basis

  • To reply to you, make an offer, or arrange a purchase or sale. Our lawful basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and performing that contract.
  • To keep records of sales and purchases. Our lawful basis is our legal obligations, for example for tax and accounting.
  • To send our monthly mailing list email, if you've signed up. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by replying to any of our emails and asking to unsubscribe.
  • To protect the website from spam and misuse. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.

We don't sell your information, and we don't use it for marketing unless you've asked us to.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers to run the website, each acting on our instructions:

  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), which receives the forms on this website, including any photos you attach, and emails them to us. FormSubmit uses Google reCAPTCHA to block spam.
  • Google, whose Gmail service holds the emails we receive.
  • Our website hosting provider.
  • Couriers and payment providers, when you buy or sell a watch, so the watch can be delivered and paid for.

Where any of these providers process data outside the UK, they do so under safeguards recognised by UK data protection law.

How long we keep it

We keep offer, enquiry and message details for as long as we need them to deal with your request, and delete details of offers that don't go ahead within 12 months. We keep mailing list details until you unsubscribe. Records of completed purchases and sales are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting, which is usually six years.

Cookies

This website doesn't set any cookies, and we don't use analytics or advertising tracking. When you send a form, FormSubmit may show a Google reCAPTCHA check, which can set its own cookies to tell people and bots apart.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. To use any of these rights, send us a message through our contact form.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
